Prince William plans to participate in the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, as confirmed by the royal household.
The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday evening at a gathering ahead of the climate summit, which is set to be held in the Amazonian city of Belem.
The royal pair were participating in the scientific institution event, marking an rare public appearance together at a climate summit preparatory event co-hosted by the British authorities.
Environmental Advocacy Dedication
King Charles has been a longstanding advocate of protecting nature - and the Prince of Wales has assumed the responsibility, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be hosted in Rio preceding the climate conference.
Royal sources have portrayed the Prince's participation at the next COP as assuming an important role in "environmental negotiations".
Previous Activities
The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the official car, were greeted participants featuring conservation experts, scientists, environmental activists, foreign representatives and politicians.
This involvement included speaking together with French leader Macron of France and other world leaders at the Ocean Finance Summit in Monaco in recent months.
Environmental Prize Link
The UN meeting will dovetail with the William's personal sustainability recognition program, which will conclude in the Brazilian city the previous day he joins the COP summit on 6 November.
In recent days the prince described the award contenders as "contemporary champions".
Royal Climate Legacy
The monarch has been a key figure at past COP meetings, providing the introductory remarks in the United Arab Emirates for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the statement: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".
"For decades I've committed a large proportion of my life trying to alert people to the existential threats confronting humanity over planetary heating, global temperature increases and ecological decline," the monarch informed attendees.
