The Three Lions Recall Bukayo Saka But Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden & Grealish Are Left Out

Bukayo Saka in action

Bukayo Saka has netted 12 goals in 44 caps for England.

England have included Bukayo Saka for next week's fixtures against Latvia and Wales, yet there's no spot for Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden or Jack Grealish.

Gunners attacker Saka missed the previous World Cup qualifying victories against Serbia and Andorra with a hamstring issue.

The 24-year-old made a comeback for his club and scored in their 2-0 win over Olympiacos midweek.

Saka comes in for Arsenal team-mate Madueke, who is out of action till next month with a knee injury.

England face the Welsh in a friendly at the national stadium on Thursday prior to a qualifying match in Riga on October 14.

If England win against Latvia, they will need a just two more points from their final two matches versus Serbia and Albania in November to qualify for next summer's tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Leverkusen's Quansah replaces Newcastle's Tino Livramento, who is sidelined for two months following sustaining a knee injury against Arsenal last weekend.

Elliot Anderson and Spence, who received their first England call-ups last month, keep their spots. Loftus-Cheek also keeps his spot, even with the return to fitness of Wharton.

The attacker has featured in just one game for the manager since he became national team boss, because of injury concerns.

The midfielder was absent from the last England international camp as he was rehabilitating after shoulder surgery and has managed just one start for his club after coming back to fitness.

The Manchester City player was left out from Tuchel's previous selection after a loss of form and has been unable to force his way back, despite a strong start to the campaign with City.

Grealish also misses out in spite of a resurgence on loan at Everton. The 30-year-old has not featured for the national team since last year.

'Focus on omissions over inclusions'

The manager’s new selection brings scrutiny to the players the head coach has left out rather than the players he has selected.

Bellingham’s exclusion may raise some eyebrows but Tuchel understandably feels there is no rush to bring back the Real Madrid star.

City’s Phil Foden and loanee Jack Grealish have both performed well at the start of the season.

Those who Tuchel utilised in the team’s qualifying victories against Serbia and Andorra merit the chance to continue.

It will bring disappointment that Arsenal's Madueke is not included because of injury.

Anderson has looked right at home at England senior level.

Tuchel is a fan of Grealish, in particular, as well as the City star.

One unexpected move, it is the absence of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.

The star, of course, will be needed in the future.
